Don Potter

Saturday, September 19, 2026 - 7:00 PM EDT

Don Potter

Singer and guitarist Don Potter, a native of Glens Falls, New York, gained a large following in the greater Rochester area during the late 1960s as a member of the Show Stoppers. He later formed a duo with fellow Show Stoppers member Bat McGrath. The two collaborated with Chuck Mangione on the Friends and Love concert, which also featured Steve Gadd on drums, Tony Levin on bass, and Gap Mangione on keyboards. Potter would continue to contribute vocals to future Mangione projects, including the Children of Sanchez theme.

After releasing two solo albums—one of which featured his powerful rendition of “Over the Rainbow”—Potter relocated to Nashville and found work as a session player. It was there that he played a significant role in launching one of the most successful acts in country music history, The Judds. Potter is widely credited with helping to shape the Judds’ signature sound, which earned the mother-daughter duo millions of fans worldwide. In addition, he has recorded and performed Christian music for several decades.

Potter has worked with a long list of renowned artists, including Elton John, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Lyle Lovett, and Mark Knopfler. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2013.

Over the years, Potter has returned to Rochester to perform with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, appearing in its annual Holiday Pops concerts. More recently, he has made an annual tradition of returning to the area to perform with bassist Wes Foy and keyboardist Bruce Dailey, who toured with Don as part of Wynonna Judd’s band for five years.

Chicago Transit

Friday, November 6, 2026 - 7:00 PM EDT

Chicago Transit

There are a lot of bands doing a tribute to the band Chicago, but back in the early 90’s, when Powerhouse decided to put together their Chicago Transit tribute act, they were the first in the world to do so. And they remain today as THE FIRST AND LONGEST RUNNING CHICAGO TRIBUTE BAND IN THE WORLD and the only one to carry five lead vocalists, just as the band Chicago does. The bands’ 5 lead singers, the 3-piece horn section and the 5 piece rhythm section, made this show a natural for the band, even getting credit from the band Chicago themselves, back in the 90’s. In twenty-five years, the band, based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada has performed their show at Festivals, Theatres, Casinos and various other venues from as far east as the Gatineau Hills in Quebec, south to Florida, USA and the US Midwest – including Chicago, Illinois, itself. The band, with its three piece horn section, five piece rhythm section and five lead vocalists is able to cover all the Chicago material from the early horn-dominant classics like ‘Make Me Smile’, ’25 or 6 to 4’ and ‘Saturday in the Park’ to the later, softer, keyboard-oriented ballads like ‘If You Leave Me Now’. If you like Chicago, you’ll love Chicago Transit!
